Money Checker, UNIVERSAL
It's never been easier to authenticate money, ID cards, driver's licenses, credit cards, birth certificates, even passports and visas.
The MoneyChecker authenticates the 1996 and later U.S. Currency Series in
which several new security features have been added. The MoneyChecker
identifies two covert security features: the denomination specific color-coded
Security Thread with Micro-printing and the Watermark. It also verifies the
older bills (pre-1996) by identifying lack of paper fluorescence.
How it works
Connect the provided AC power supply adapter to the input jack on the
right side of the unit. The MoneyChecker is activated automatically when
currency or another suitable target is placed in the device, activating a
sensor in the lower right corner. The unit is designed to automatically shut
off after 3-4 minutes when not in use. The MoneyChecker may come on when it is
first plugged in, but usually requires activation with a target. The operator
simply slides the bill into the MoneyChecker and compares the security
features in the bill to the built-in template. The bottom UV (ultra-violet)
lamp is specifically designed to inspect and illuminate the color-coded
Security Thread and the LED light illuminates the Watermark security features.
No training is required. The $100, $50, $20, $10 and $5 bills contain these
features.
Identity Fraud
By utilizing the new Universal MoneyChecker hundreds of banking
establishments nationwide are protecting themselves and their valued customers
against Identity Fraud.
The overhead UV lamp, unique to the Universal model allows detection of
fluorescent security features on other documents such as credit cards,
travelers checks, drivers lecenses, passports and visas.
The security features in currency and ID documents are often "covert". The
most common "covert" feature is a fluorescent image printed in a way that
makes it invisible to the naked eye. It becomes visible only when UV light
(black light) activates it.
The UV bulbs within the MoneyChecker are "cold cathode" bulbs. Cold cathode
technology offers longer life, greater reliability and reduced power
consumption. These bulbs allow Angstrom to offer a 1-year manufacturer's
warrantee on the MoneyChecker.
